Over time, bridal festivities have largely managed to adhere to some composition that is quite general generally in most countries. But, each tradition has its own traditions that are special to them. Some of these entertaining european wedding tradition does seemed a little bit silly to non- locals, but they really carry meaning for the couple and their family and friends.

The tradition of the bride- napping is a common one around eastern Europe, it is basically where close friends of the groom does”kidnap” the bride during the group and take her somewhere more( mostly to a bar or club ). They will then visit the groom to demand a compensation which he will have to go from tavern to restaurant to spend until they release the bride. This is meant to teach the groom that his wife will not be a walkover and that he should be strong enough to stand up for what he wants in his career.

In France, spouses may typically sip reddish wine from the same mug during their greeting. This is a symbol of sharing their lives up and avoiding quarrels.

The Welsh also have a pretty much tradition of giving their brides carved spoons, called lovespoons, decorated with codes and beads that represent the key to their brain. This is to ensure that the couple are not just romantic but true to each other throughout their marriage. In Greece, three days before a wedding, the couple will have a krevati ceremony where friends and family come over to their home and pin money on their mattress in a sign of good fortune.
